Computer upgrade
« on: April 23, 2006, 06:44:08 PM »

I have just purchased a Hard Krome Sideburner exhaust and a K&N filter for the stock housing.  I would appreciate any input on which computer upgrade works best and if anyone is running this setup, what they are using.
Thanks,

It is my understanding (this from reading posts from Tapper and other experts) that the 1800 stock smart box requires no modification to handle these mods. If it is a 1300 you may have to re-jet.

Could save yourself a few C notes to spend on other goodies.

Sorry, I didn't mention it is a 2003 1800C.  I appreciate your reply.  I was just concerned that the aftermarket pipe with its reduced backpressure would require a different fuel setting.
Thanks,

Take a look at the sticky post on the VTXOA 1800 tech forum.  "Air, fuel, Motors.."  Start from there..
