Newbie here
« on: January 04, 2009, 08:36:48 PM »

Name is Mark.
Moved here in October from California (please don't hold that against me ;)).
New job working at the San Marcos airport.
Went back to California to get the X over the Holidays.
Went for my first 100 mile Texas ride yesterday around Canyon Lake... Beautiful! ;D
Been riding my X since March of 2006.
Was an active member of the CalVTXRiders for 3 years before moving to Texas.
Looking forward to meeting fellow X riders.
Lets ride! ;D

Welcome XMark.  I saw a California VTX patch that I liked a lot and have contacted the maker about making one or a bunch for me. I was thinking about posting a pic of it to see if folks in Texas would want one. I did a bad cut and paste job of what it would look like for the Central area but you can get the idea.

I was going to ask if the Texas riders had a patch.
Here is a picture of my vest with the California VTX patch on it.
I'm going to have to remove that patch now that I live here but would like to replace it with something.
What do ya'll wear on your vests?

I also do photoshop work and did avatars for folks like this one of me with the CalVTXlogo photoshopped into the backround.

Thanks everyone. :)

So far, I'm liking Texas a lot!

I grew up in Wisconsin and this area looks a lot like where I grew up.
Even though I lived in California for many years, I never considered myself a "Californian". ;)

I became spoiled by the nice riding weather in California though. Gonna have to learn the weather patterns here. :-\

A little about my X...
2005 1800F model.
Some mods I've done...
Airbox mod with K&N filter for more airflow
Desmog (it's a California bike ;))
Cobra FI2000 fuel manager
Cobra pipes
Autocom system with XM Radio
Ultimate Seat
Hondaline windshield with lowers
Saddleman Saddle Bags
custom driving lights
modified rear license plate holder (chopped the F model "mudflap")
Tank Bib
Rear brake Reservoir mod
Lots of chrome :)
Etc.

Probably not the best looking 1800F but my aim was for comfort more then looks. ;D

Welcome to Texas Mark !  It's funny that they call you a trailer queen ! They sure catch on fast there !
I don't know if I ever told you but I own 10 acres up in Fort Stockton so I have dual citizenship ! ;D
My brother also lives in Austin but I'll protect you from him !!! :D :D  I hope everything works out good for you there and maybe I'll stop by to see ya when I go see my Bro and Sister-in -law. She works for the state so she may not be biker friendly. I think that she carries a gun !!

This is the logo on our patch Mark. I'm having to dig up pics 'cause our old Gallery got smoked. I'll try to show the patch when I find a copy of it. It is omega shaped for some reason. It looks like this though:

Contact Paperpeddler on the board here, he gets them made for us. He oughta' have some.

Hmmm, looks like the pic I used was a GIF. No, our patch doesn't rotate, lol.
