My Daughter is interested in a puppy for Christmas that is from a breeder up by you in De Kalb. I noticed from Map Quest that its near New Boston, and I was wondering if you would mind chking out this breeder for me. I've heard alot of horror stories about these puppy farms and I would really appreciate it if you could chk. 'em out for me ...heres the link ...let me know

Thanks, Hooter. I totally agree, and think that rescue orgs are the only way to go. There is only one way to put puppy mills out of business, and that is to dry up the demand.

Thanks, Hooter. I totally agree, and think that rescue orgs are the only way to go. There is only one way to put puppy mills out of business, and that is to dry up the demand. 

Puppy/pet rescue is usually the best way to go. Get a loving new family member that wasn't mass produced.

Wow! You two are sounding more like the bleeding heart tree hugger I'm portrayed to be, lol. The truth is, I agree to a point....but, if they want a full blooded shih tzu, they are not likely to find one at a rescue. Bryan, check your PM, meet info.

How so? All my Dalmatians are rescue, all 100% Dal. I guess if papers mean something to you, you may find value in paying hundreds of dollars for a dog at a breeder, but my first Dal came with AKC papers as well. Puppy mills suck.

There are rescue groups for almost every breed of dog out there.  It's just a matter of doing a search for them.  I have rescued three greyhounds and have heard of rescue groups for other breeds.

I can hardly taste the difference between rescue puppies and puppies found on the street, but puppy mill puppies have a distinct taste of their own, can't cover it up no matter what spices you use.
