What to do with the leftover grommet from the old airbox
« on: December 01, 2008, 11:50:06 PM »

Since replacing the old airbox with the Thunder Tornado, I still have the old grommet left between the jugs. Has anyone added anything decorative to cover this grommet or does everyone just take off the bracket? Looking for something that I can bolt on to this bracket if I decide to leave it on.... Warren

Warren,

Not sure if you know this or not, but the extra offset bracket that should have come with the Tornado is actually another mount for the Tornado so it doesn't shake.  It attaches to the back of the Tornado mounting plate and then to that stock rubber grommet between the jugs.  I chromed my bracket, but you can see it in this picture.  And then I just put an Emgo Crankcase Filter on it...nothing wrong with more chrome!  :)  Here are links to where I get my crankcase filters.  The first link is the enitre assembly, and the second link is just the filter by itself.  I keep a couple in my garage, 'cause they do get dirty after awhile.

If you bought it new, you should be able to get one from the vendor, since they forgot to put it in.  If not, you could always fab something up with some aluminum flatbar from Lowes/Home Depot.

Where are you guys picking up the small breathers at?  I called a couple of places and they don't carry them.
