The cheapest way to increase your gas mileage is to simply keep your wrist under control. Nothing knocks your fuel mileage down faster than a rapid twist of the wrist! Keep your shift under 3krpm, or better yet, 2-2.5krpm, and use a gradual accel. You will see a significant rise in mileage. But, where's the fun in that???
So what about the Cobra FI2000? There are two styles apparently. A "T" connector and one that actually has wires that go under the gas tank. The "T" connector seems the easiest to install. Anybody had any experience with the FI2000 from Cobra? ThanksMalcolm DukeHurst,Tx. 04 VTX 1800R
addind a power commander will help some with the mileage if (this is important) tuned correctly. if not then fuel mileage could be downright horrible. also remember that if you request a map for "knock your butt off the seat" power, then fuel mileage may suffer as well. tell the tuner what it is you want and you should get it. also, you can have 2 maps done as well. one for city commuting and one for burnin' up your rear tire. BTW, a "map" is the program created for your bikes specific needs and then loaded into the power commander. my recommendation would be to talk with johnny cheese from this board. he know's his sh!t when it comes to the X and power commanders. good luck and ride safe.
