Looking for a painter
« on: October 11, 2008, 11:37:00 PM »

I would like to get my bike painted after I finish the repairs and would like to find a local painter/graphic artist that does custom bike paint work. Does anyone have contact info. Here is an idea of the quality I am looking for. These guys are in Florida.

Here is a local guy that seems to do decent work. He gave me a quote to pull the dent out of my tank and repaint to factory specs at a very reasonable price. I have not personally seen his work other than a few pics, but at least you could email him and check it out. He had a post on Craigslist, which is where I got his info from. Hope this helps & good luck.
His name is Ede Robinson and email is badfish420@sbcglobal.net

Dorbritz Designs custom paintwork. Located in Allen texas. The guy isn't some big operation but does great work for a very reasonable price. He did the paint and airbrushing on my fender... O0

If you want to avoid downtime for a paint job, http://www.bdscycles.com/.  He's in North Carolina, he has tin sets for all models/years of VTX I believe.  He'll paint you a tank/fender set, ship it to you, you swap it out and ship your old ones back to him in exchange.  He's active on the national vtx board, and seems to have a lot of satisfied customers on there.

A $300 deposit will get you on his waiting list.  He says prices for single color, no artwork start at about $900, or $1300-1900 for typical flames or tribal graphics.

I gave him a deposit late August, he called a couple of weeks ago and told me to keep waiting, so if you're in a hurry maybe he's not the right one.  I'm mainly interested in avoiding downtime, don't really care how long it takes him to get to me...
