Did you know that racing
« on: July 10, 2006, 08:23:36 PM »

Did you know racing is a class B misdermeaner? I didn't.  A friend of mine said her 20 year old was put in jail over the weekend for racing in League City. I asked how fast it was 65 in a 45, not even a respectable number.  Now I realize there could be more to the story but that was the charge.

Yes it is, it used to be better, I got cought once doing 115 mph on a 30 mph road, the cop let me go after he told me he had a car faster than mine... since the K-mart insident in houston from a few years back, things really changed... there's not a good place to race on the street any more...  Kids bring their honda civics and make all kinds of noice, drink and drive.  They have ruined a good sting for may people.  I remember going out racing and the police would stop by to see the races,  The good old days...  there are some spots out there where you still get to see some decent races every now and then but for the most part the race track is the place now a days.   :'( :'( :'(

Wow that is harsh.  Isn't that the same class as a DWI/DUI?  Sucks  :-\

Yep, we're a more civilized, cultural, and socially sensitive world now.  Not only is racing illegal, but there's an "Exhibition of Speed" charge too (Class C). :P

Well, I'm gonna correct my brain-fart from last night.  Exhibition of speed IS racing.  It should have been "excessive acceleration" which is doing a burn out, or just getting after it.

Oh, why didn't you say Speed was involved. Now we're talking drug charges and since it's Excessive Speed, it must have been for distribution, right?

My 1st ticket was for  Exhibition of acceleration and falure to stay in a single marked lane.  I was fish tailing down a dirt road.  That one sucked.  I was 17.  Like I told the judge what dirt road do you know of that has a marked lane. got out of that one and took DD for the other one. O0
