Galveston - The Spot & Rally
« on: September 19, 2008, 03:45:46 PM »

The  Spot suffered minimal cosmetic damage. The Hooters, Balanese Room are completely GONE! Dennis has been on the island since Saturday evening the day after IKE. He has been cooking residence food that was thawing and going to spoil since Tuesday. He has been getting ice in and giving away som e beer and beverages to island residents.

On Wednesday evening someone donated a huge generator that is providing electricity to The Spot so residence come there and watch the TV. Heck, he had about 15 people there watching football last night.

There are talks between several bars on the island about holding a charity ride slash poker run for the people in Galveston.

Updates to come as soon as I get them...

According to some of my Galveston Police contacts, doing anything in Galveston will be tough for a while.
The Rally is off and I believe a place in Houston is being looked for.

Just got off the phone with Dennis. Ron is working on a couple different things.

The main is doing the rally on the seawall. This is priority "1 for now  O0

Galveston businesses need the income so trying to keep it there.

this point! im sure it survived but
I have been told that my place
got at least 3 or 4 foot of water so im sure my bike sat underwater for some time..besides changing all the fluids and checking/drying electrical connections im not quite sure what
else to check when converting a submarine back to a motorcycle!? if
anyone has the time maybe we can
use a tech write up to get the
old girl up an running..i for one would most appriciate it! peace

talked with April this morning. Danny and April have lost everything but in good spirits. Danny only had liability on his bike but some of the guys from the Salty Dogs MC are working on it for him.

They did not have renters insurance either. Just wanted to updates all.

You guys are in my thoughts and prayers. I will see ya tomorrow on the island O0

I been out of the country all month and just got back yesterday.  I really was hard to find out any details and am trying to get caught up.  My thoughts and prayers have been with the folks that live in this area.

So can the rally really go on?

I've called on the house we rented and can't get any answers as to whether it exists or not.
