I had some emblems on my side covers. One fell off, so I pulled the other off and bought Color-Rite paint to repaint them. The epoxy that I used to put the emblems on with really buggered up the paint, so I had to use some filler putty.
When I painted, I had them hanging and inspected them between coat of primer and color. Looked good, so I shot 4 layers of the clear coat. When I took them down and held them at 90 degrees from how they were hanging, they looked like prunesauce. The filler is showing through at certain angles. I used almost all the paint so I was surprised to see the filler showing through. I really didn't want to spend another $100 bucks on base, color and clear.
? Do I have to sand them all the way back down to put more primer and color on. Or can I just sand the clear coat and apply the primer and color? Then shoot clear again.
Input is appreciated!
