I'm new to the coast area (Spring, if you consider that "coast area"), and this will most likely be my first hurricane!  I thought Gustav was going to be it, but that was a non-starter.  We didn't even get any rain out of it...

So- for all you seasoned hurricane vets; anything specific that you would recommend?  Again, I'm in Spring, which is a good ways from the coast.  I don't expect much more than just a big storm this far inland.  Am I wrong?
