About 5 miles pass as I was comming home from my local honda shop, I realized my rear end was alittle squishy.  The tire was not flat when I pulled in because I hit a speed bump and it was firm.    Anyway so I pull over to check the tire. 11psi.  I noticed a nail from the contact patch through the tire and out the side wall. Understand that I live in BFE and everything is 15 miles from home. So I cruch home doing about 40 in a 60 where other people are doing 80. I get home 5pm and start the phone calls.  Mind you it's 5 pm on a friday evening. I call the honda shop about 12 times before I can actually get though.  I mentioned something about thier phone being busy and they laughed and said,"well we've been kinda busy and we only have one phone line back here".  Their price of a stock dunny is 170 plus 85 dollars installation. 

I called victory cycles and they quoted me 240 for a 200 tire installed. Granted I was on hold forever, but I was well taken care of. They should have it done by 9:30 tomarrow so I should still be able to make the ride.

Is this about average for a tire? 

P.S. I had fun making my tire bald.

Just left a cycle gear store in San Antonio and they are a lot cheaper than the dealer. I have a 1300 and they said a new dunlap is a little over 90 bucks for front tire and little over 100 for the rear and 20 to 30 to mount and balance.  While I was there bought a First Gear mesh jacket for summer riding for 120 dollars plus tax,all other stores wanted 149 to 179 for the same jacket.  Forgot to mention they said they were open till 8 each night.

well there are sevral locations i know in houston there is one by almeda mall and in greenspoint area too in dallas area there is one in plano and one in fort worth

Marigold there are three in Houston.  One on 45 at West Rd North of Houston.  One on 45 South of Houston by the old Yamin Motorcycles.  I don't know the cross street sorry.  And the third on 59 beside Ex-Import Ducati Aprilia near the Compaq/Lakewood Church.  If you've never been there you should go they have lots of stuff.  Mostly crotch rocket and moto cross stuff but there's still a ton of gear for cruiser folks.

Not sure just asked when I was in the store because the future son-in-law is in need of both tires and I told them he has a 03 1300 with spokes.

It has been my experience that even prices at the dealer vary depending on whether they get the tire direct from honda or from another source.  Amazing how the same tire can cost so much more just because it has a Honda sticker on it.

Update, I'm better now.  That 200 rides a little different.  I'm not sure if it's just the glaze on it, or its drifting.  It looks a lot better though.
