Rider Down
« on: August 12, 2008, 05:50:07 AM »

Folks, Last Sat. my wife Yankeebelle went down on HWY 1431 outside of Austin.
There was a truck stopped waiting to make a left turn. The girl came up and
didn't see that the trk was stopped and swerved to the right clipped another truck
and was spun around into Belle. Belle didn't even have time to hit the brakes before
she hit the car. Just goes to show you that you can do all the right things and people
just can't help be stupid. Becareful out there folks.

I gotta tell ya she is hurtin..But true to her nature she is pretty mad. Thank the Lord she isn't hurt worse. The list is pretty varied.
1st: Her right elbow was dislocated. They put it back it's stabilized.
2nd: Has a broken left arm about 4 inchs above the wrist. They put a plate in to stabilize it and found
her wrist was dislocated also. She has a cast on for that.
3rd: She lost the tip of her ring finger and the index finger was broken.
4th: Her left leg had a pretty good gash in it and required stitches. She also has a broken
left foot.
It amazed me she didn't have any chest injuries but I'm not complaining.
My thanks to our good friends Cruzinmom(Beth Ann), HayscountyBob (Bob) and Windchaser(Shirl) From what I hear they had to keep her from getting up to give the young lady a quiet talking to.
Bob took some pic's of whats left of "Bea" and it's not pretty. The pic's need no explaintion.

Sorry to hear.  It's good to know that she's mad though instead of being worse off. O0

Makes me sick to my stomach when I hear/see this happen. Cagers need to change their bad habits, just don't know how to make our point heard.

God Bless... ya'll are in my prayers.

I am so happy to hear that she is doing as well as she is considering the looks of the bike and car.  That helmet sitting on the ground...was it on her head when the collision happened?

If you don't love what you're doing, then don't do it.
Your chances of success are directly proportional to the degree of pleasure you derive from what you do.

Thank goodness she had her helmet on. Our thoughts are with you and her.

It's just too bad the cage driver doesn't get charged with attempted homicide. I think a few prosecutions would open their eyes. Nah, prolly not. Too busy talking on the phone to notice.

Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.

My prayers for a speedy recovery.
Last year a cagier run a stop sign and T-bone another cagier right in front of me, I saw something fly through the air during the collision so after checking to see that all we ok I found the object that had caught my eye, it was a cell phone with part of a tex message still on the display screen. The young girl was texing someone and didn’t notice the stop sign.

I am so sorry about Yankeebelle.  I was looking forward to meeting the other Shadow rider.   Tell her she is in my prayers and I hope she has a full recovery.

Glad she is doing ok and not any worse as it looks like it could have been much worse.I agree some of these drivers need to be charged then if word gets out hopefully would be more careful and the state needs to outlaw cell phones and texting. In kalif. you cannot talk on a cell phone and drvive but still text..........only in Kalif.  :D
