I havn't worked with wireless too much.  One thing I found out the hard way is that a wireless system will mess with your cordless phone sometimes of the freq. is too close.  Also if you have a camera out side, and reciever inside,  reception is always better on a cool day when you have cloud cover.  I have a 8 camera hard wired system with a 24hour time lapse vcr.  I've been looking into getting a dvr for it so that I don't have to mess with the tapes anymore.

Or S&W works too.  As long as they are on your property.

I'm not an expert but have some experience. :D   Fry's has a pretty decent selection and price ranges depending on how sophisticated and $$$$ a system you want. Installation is no big deal. Give me a call if ya want to discuss details. I'd like to go shopping with your money. ;)

thanks Jimmy, i was at fry's yesterday looking at them.
i got confussed when it came to the recording part. i want the camera for inside use, i would like to be able to program it to come on at specific times and be able to play back later. wireless is pretty important because of the location i want the camera to be. it dont lend well to wires. so a reciever not too far away will do the trick.
i see stuff range from 5 bills ......^^^^^ up, maybe a 4 channel controler would be more than enough.
thanks for the responces.

and BTW, a new S&W is not needed in this house, i have that well under control.  O0

If you are only going to use one camera then you don't need a 4 channel controller unless you plan on adding more cameras at a later date. The recording can go straight to a hard drive on computer and be programmed to record at certain times (computer would need to be left on) . 5 sounds alittle high for a one camera wireless network (even if it's color). Another thing to consider for the location of the camera  is the power source. You know where to find me if you need any help O0

Have you looked at www.x10.com ?  They have some interesting stuff.  I use it to automate the lights in my house.  The walk-in closet uses a motion detector, the water feature out back uses a wireless switch, as does the back yard lights.  They have some really cool wireless cameras.

Another source is supercircuits.com. They have alot of different stuff and it's real reasonable.  Just keep in mind that most of that stuff operates at 2.4 mhz and it is very easily intercepted by anyone else who care to look or listen in.  Cordless phones, baby monitors, and everyones elses stuff is on the same freq.

...also most mid-upper range DVR/VCR's have date and time recorders and can be programmed to record at a specific time and date.
