Wanted - Tank for '05 or newer 1800 R or S model
« on: July 25, 2008, 11:32:16 AM »

Looking for a tank in any condition so I can prove to myself that I don't have any painting skills.  I ride my bike pretty much daily and don't want the down-time...

Don't ask why I'm needing to paint a tank.   My blood pressure can't stand relating the story...  Suffice to say *I* didn't do it.

I'm not sure if it will fit, but you oughtta look for a neo tank or an f tank.  They have the seam rolled under. If your gonna buy another one, ya might as well upgrade.

'05 and newer R/S models have the "seamless" tank.  I'm thinking the Neo tank might be identical, but I think the F tank has the internal fuel pump.  At least, it shows a capacity of 4.8 gal vs 5.3 gal for Neo/R/S models.   I could be wrong.

you are right, the neo and the f are 5.3 (although I've put 5.7 in it before)> the fuel pump is infront of the rear tire where your coolant is.  My coolant is between the jugs on the axle side oppisite the filter.

My coolant reservoir ('05 S model) is in the same place as yours...   '04 & earlier models had it down below.
