Ride to Work
« on: July 10, 2008, 08:38:24 AM »

Wednesday, July 16th.

Ride your motorcycle or scooter on this day to demonstrate:
The number of motorcyclists to the general public and to politicians.
That motorcyclists are from all occupations and all walks of life.
That motorcyclists can reduce traffic and parking congestion in large cities.
That motorcycles are for transportation as well as recreation.
That motorcycling is a social good.

If you don't love what you're doing, then don't do it.
Your chances of success are directly proportional to the degree of pleasure you derive from what you do.

I rode yesterday - it's plesant when you ride in at 7:30 in the morning

- but UNBEARABLE going home when it's 100degrees in the afternoon  >:(

I just can't seem to get used to this damn heat...

But, it could be worse: my Dad was in Las Vegas this week - anywhere from 107 to 117 for the highs. Yikes  :o

Dunno, I think I'd gladly trade 100/high humidity for 110/low humidity any day...

Good thing we don't have HIGH humidity in DFW.  I ride to work nearly every day, and don't mind the ride home at all...and I wear a leather jacket all year long.  And a full faced helmet.

I have been in both and much prefer the 110/low humidity.  Radiational cooling works much better when your sweat can evaporate.

Just be glad you don't live in Phoenix last week. One day last week the LOW for the day was 101 degrees. How the heck do you get used to riding in the heat when your day STARTS at 101?  sheesh.

I don't care what other people think. They don't do it very often!
Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.
