Pulled the trigger today
« on: July 05, 2008, 02:21:42 PM »

OMG what have I done.  I just purchased a new Concourse 14 sport touring bike. I will be picking it up a little later this afternoon.   Still keeping the VTX1300.  Now I will have 2 -1300s.  A new style of sitting , riding, speed ,and control to learn.  I am pretty worked up about it.  http://www.kawasaki.com/Products/detail.aspx?id=220

Congrats...I've heard very good things about that bike.  I guess everyone is moving up to sport & sport touring now.  Pretty soon, there won't be a Houston X Riders group anymore.  :'(

I'm only giving you six months before you have the X sold!  O0

I believe Heirloom has one; he seems to be pleased with it, and he's had it awhile.

Well; I have some first impressions.  This is one bad a$$ bike.  Its the smoothist most comfortable thing I've been on.  And man does it have power. Now I just have to learn how to control it. At this point I'm just taking it easy and learning.  I can tell it has all the power that I will ever want and more.   I'm also very impressed with the handling but I'm comming off a crusier.  The only negative I see so far is that the bike puts out a lot of heat.  However I feel that most bikes with this size engine are going to throw heat. Its nothing that can't be handled but this is not a bike your going to wear shorts on.

That's been the single biggest complaint about the C14 that I've read... lots of heat, particularly on the right leg.

I rode a ZX11 for 10 years, and I'm looking forward to getting an inline 4 with good handling again...in a bad way.

Congrats Dave. Gabe told me about your purchase yesterday.

I was in Phoenix two week ends ago and rented a C-14 and took it up into the mountains for a day.
Great bike.

...and now that you're on a sport tourer....

you can wear stylish full body tight fitting riding gear, sport an ascot around your neck, punctuate your speech with European phrases and drink green tea.  ;)  So many benefits.
