If you have a windshield you can mount it to the shield's frame; that's what the bride did. Mine's on the front of the upper tree with Velcro.

I put mine on the frame pipe right above the key switch.

you might want to think about this.

this described setup might be a good option...

hookup a battery tender, (should do this anyway), with the tender's SAE connectors upon the bike's battery.  Then purchase at your nearest wallyworld the Electro-tek 12v auxillary power port, SAE connector to cigeratte lighter port.

This way you can see if you want to permitly have it fixed to the bike or just temporary during the ride.

I actually put a cigarette plug on my battery charger (interchangable with the clamps via spade connectors).  So I can charge my battery through my cigarette port.  It has come in handy many times... ;-)

We have lighter plugs straight to the fuse block with heavy wire, and carry 10' jumpers in 10 gauge wire. Got heavy lighter plugs and we can charge our bikes, jump our bikes, or jump someone else off of our bikes without removing the seat or battery cover. Just use heavy wiring. Also, think about what you will be plugging into the port -- if you're charging your cell phone it's nice to have the port situated where the charger cord isn't hanging where you can trip over it getting off the bike, or have it end up against something hot while you're riding.
