steak for breakfast and a forest ride Sun 6/22
« on: June 19, 2008, 12:49:14 PM »

I have some friends meeting me when I get off of work Sunday and we are going to eat breakfast at the Old Montgomery Steakhouse at 105/149.  They have never been there or through the forest. Anyone and everyone are invited to tag along.  We can meet at the Shell on 2920/2978 at around 8:30am and go from there.

I'd love to go but I think MY Sunday drive will be a leisurely run up to New Caney to fix my leaking front fork.  :-\

I don't care what other people think. They don't do it very often!
Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.

I don't know. He may be back from the ride before I can get up there. I'm taking it very easy.

OK - saga continues - had a flat tire on the way home (scary, going about 50 when the rear of the bike started fish-tailing). I was able to idle the bike over to the side of the road, and luckily in front of a Walgreens, so I bought a can of fix-a-flat, but the tire looked fine ?!

Once I started to fill it, the junk started spewing out of the stem where it connects to the wheel. No fix, so had to call for a tow......

So that sounds like just a new stem which is alot cheaper than a new tire....sure am glad you are fine Ron.

Thanks Lucky - hope the new seals on Wayne's bike are working OK.

I went ahead and got new tires anyway, cause they were near to needing replacing anyway. Will keep the old tires for backup. I also put on metal tire valves !

Took the opportunity to swap back the stock front sproket while I had the rear tire off.

Got the Pirelli Diablo Corsa 3's to check them out. Supposedly great grip, but short wear life.
