About a year and a half ago, the datacenter that hosts all of our Dev. boxes in Sacramento had its power lines smashed by an 18 wheeler. Normally not a huge deal because of redundancy, UPS's and diesel generators...... The problem was that the datacenter facilities guys didn't check the diesel levels in the generators, and a disgruntled employee had drained all the diesel. You'd figure that they do checks (we check our generators here twice a month), but I guess they forgot!!!
Lost 4 days of data. Doesn't sound like much, but we have 20,000 employees with email accounts hosted there!!!
