"Over my dead body," was her response when asked if she and Jason would ride again. Her bike is already up for sale. She said she wanted people to know how dangerous motorcycles can be.

I am sorry to hear he got hurt but he brought this on himself.............I pray he heals fast and with as less pain as possible.

Motorcycles are not dangerous. You have to be a very cautious defensive driver and not drive like a FOOL. She knew he was a reckless driver. She knew it was going to happen sooner or later. It just happened sooner.

Typical type of reply in this country... blame everyTHING except the true cause which it appears in this case was him clowning around.

I dont mean to sound , mean, or heartless, but when you choose to ride a bike, you choose to give up life as you know it at any time......just like skydiving, or riding bulls, you have to be ready to die or loose a limb...
Its not a matter of IF, rather WHEN you will crash.....
Jason was riding faster than his Angels could fly,
That said, Ive lost many many many freinds over the years, and Im always ready to go, when I get on my bike....
God Bless him and his family.
Yall keep it on two wheels.
d
P.S.  again, dont wanna sound like a jerk, but I dont get on the metros highways at all....its just plain stupid....yall have drivin them in cages Im sure, and thats perilous enough....

I agree with all...  he was going way too fast and way too reckless I'm sure.
Makes me think of those guys on crotch-rockets who ride the stripe down
the middle of cars on the freeways here in Dallas.

It was a hard lesson for him, and going to be harder (100 surgerys)

So, he was speeding... and had an accident...

and motorcycles are dangerous????Reckless drivers are the danger, whether it be bike, cage, or bicycle.

+1 to what everyone above has said about knowing and accepting the risks when we ride.

Ayyyyuuuuppppp.   We all still feel bad for the guy, regardless that it was his own doing.    Lord knows I've gotten away with some really stupid risk taking, didn't have to lose any limbs for it...  And I don't do near as much of it these days.  I need a pretty much open road for go-fast in my old age, and it needs to be a road that I know.

What a shame.
And with several kid's to feed, this family is in a world of hurt.

My thoughts go out to him and his family.

Be safe folks.
We spend a lot of time complaining about cagers and we have good reason.
But, waaaaay too often a rider is his/her own worst enemy.
