Bike Will not Start
« on: April 28, 2008, 06:53:27 PM »

My VTX1800c fell over on it right side and not it will not start. When I flip on on switch I don't hear the sound of the fuel injector kicking in either. Need HELP. There is gas in the tank

Not trying to be a smart-Cranberries or question your intelligence or anything, some people just never touch the kill switch and forget it's there...  but... it had to be said...  Hey, it's possible.

Do your headlights come on when you turn the key on?  Any noise at all when you turn key or push start button?

There is a switch that is supposed to kill it when it falls over, but it should reset when you turn the key off. I am not sure how it works but maybe it did not reset for some reason.

You might even check the owners manual to see if there is anything about resetting.

The fuses are OK and the owners manual doesn't say anything about a reset switch

Ok, there is a kill switch on the kickstand, you might check it. Or its not in gear is it?

No problem, just trying to eliminate the easy stuff. It is hard to troubleshoot over the computer. I will see if I can do a quick search on vtxoa to see if anyone else has had this problem. Will get back to you.
