Definitely on the go back to list. O0 The little fried jalepeno and onion sticks were pretty good too! And the steak wasn't to bad either. Good seeing everyone and a great day for a great ride. We need to do this more often. Wayne and Connie, hope your friend made it home and got doctored up ok.

So how was the pie?

David,
Yes my friend is ok.  He ended up riding the bike back home along with another friend of ours to watch over him.  He is in the dumps tho cause he had JUST gotten the bike out of the shop from another spill.  But we all keep reminding him that it could have been much worse.  I didn't actually see it happen, but those who did say that he did a nice tuck and roll when we realized he couldn't save the situation.

For those who wonder what we are talking about...on our way to eat CFB in Snook, our group was heading out of Bellville when there was a freaky single bike accident in our group.  One of my friends along for the ride went down.  Fortunately all that happened was he got lots of nice raspberries on his legs and wrists and his bike took a grinding on the right side.  It slid along highway 36 for a few hundred feet and gave alot of his shiny chrome a new brushed aluminum look.

Well we never made it to Vito's but did get back safe and sound. Glad to hear the down rider is going to be OK. It was good food and great people hope to do it again. I'll get the pictures up as soon as we get them developed.

The ride was great , the people were greater, Glad that the injuries to Lucky's friend were mainly to the pride. The chicken fried bacon was weird but good and that $11.00 sirloin ( 1 lb extra small are you kidding me) that I ate was so big it made me feel like a snake that just swallowed a pig! The Lemon Blackberry pie I had in Chappel Hill was fantastic. And the good news is, I think my hearing is starting to return after following Sheri all the way there and back! ;D ;D :D :D

Lucky,  I have got a handle for Paul see if he approves of it The Texas Road Tumble Weed or just leave The Texas Road Out of It.  I like both but if I had to choose one it would be "Tumbleweed" from Texas!

God speed Paul

I think everybody would agree in our group that this was a prefect name for this ride Heart stopper destination and if you don't you didn't see Lucky friend meet the road on a roll.

So now that you are all back from Snook, is everyone accounted for?

I assume no one died of congestive heart failure from eating that CFB!?  O0

Yeah, Lucky checked with TumbleWeed's pal. TumbleWeed was feeling pretty sore in all the places he got his dermal abrasion therapy. (I'll bet next time he pays the salon to do it. ;D) Lucky was pretty shook up herself about the wreck. The kid's been calling her "Mom" for a long time. Anyway, the kid was trying to slow down because we were all still jockeying for positions after the fuel stop. He hit a strip of tar running lengthwise down the road and locked up the front tire. Slid out of the tar strip and BLAM down goes the bike with TumbleWeed tucked in tight and rolling for all he's worth. He stopped rolling face down on the asphalt with his hands under his face. So when we got to his side, we weren't sure at all if he was good or not. But he was just checking that everything was still connected. The EMT's checked him out and plastered on four band-aids on the high spots, wrists and knees. He wisely decided that the ride was over for him for the day and headed back with his pal for an escort.

We made it to Sodolaks just after the other group's food started showing up so we weren't too late getting there. I ate enough to make the bike very top heavy and slowed down my blood by getting it very thick with grease. Waitress said, "Ain't no health food crap here." From Snook, we cruised the back roads to Chappel Hill and Bever's Kitchen for pie (and peach cobbler for me). This is where everyone split up.

Lucky and Swampfox and I ended up headed to Brookshire via more back roads. There was a spot at Racoon Bend Rd where we were supposed to turn onto FM331 but couldn't find it. People were smiling and waving at Swampy like he was their long lost cousin or something.  ;) And the roads kept getting more and more decrepit. We kept following the "major" roads by avoiding the less traveled paths and just as I was about to say forget it and turn around, we found the north END of FM331. about two miles past where we were supposed to find it. For a while there, we were definitely in Swampy's country.  ;D

We made it back to Brookshire and got gas and said goodbye to Swampy because we were all jumping I-10 for the fast ride into town. We had dinner plans with friends in town and needed to get there soon.

All in all, We had a great ride. Can't wait to do it again. Although Lucky's kinda spooked about leading another ride right now. (Words of encouragement are welcome.)

I don't care what other people think. They don't do it very often!
Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.

Don't worry I will teach you how to lead a pack first class is now in the past.

Leader start the pack it's the tail that see them off safe!

It's was the tail job to see the pack off in a more control delayed start.  That was my first thought of the day.  I guess you could say we had a swamp of cycles to get started WHY IT HAPPEN is you next CLASS coming soon.   O0 :)

P.S.          Lucky you did good  Its my job as the secret service to protect and I failed to do so.  I was more into show boating than thinking of my duties of the other riders.  Swampy's classroom, look for it on the board coming soon to your PC.

So I guess what everybody is saying is that the food is well worth the trip? Is the place big enough to handle a North - South X riders M&G like the one at White Wings in Temple? Just a thought for this summer's Big M&G. It's only 250 miles from Dallas.
Maybe we can get something going. The only thing I see that would stop the ride from this angle would be, if they don't sell beer.
