Wayne and I were planning on heading up that way on Sat May 3rd...brought it up last night at the M&G.  I already have a basic route planned from the SW part of town...is anyone interested or is there one already planned for Sun May 4th from the northside of town?  My thought is that we could pick a day and I plan one way there and the northside of town (Diane,Ed,Becca) plans the opposite way.  Let me know.

We could probably meet there around 10:30 - 11:00 depending on what time everyone wants to get there. We should get there around noon if we meet you there at 10:30.

For those who are on the south side of town and want to join us, here is my general plan for Saturday, May 3rd.
Leave Deer Park at 8:30 am head out west on I-10.  Can make a stop at I-10 and Hwy 6 if anyone wants to join me.  Will not stop unless I expect company.  Will continue on I-10W to Brookshire and cut off on back roads to Bellville, where we will stop for reststop.  Will head on out toward the Brenham area and then cut off to take backroads by Lake Somerville and then head back towards the final destination - clogged arteries (ie Sodolak's Original Country Inn in Snook) - with our arrival time being around noon to meet up with Taz and Red Dragon.

After lunch we will head out from Snook, TX on various backroads to Chappell Hill where we will stop (almost an hour later) for rest stop at the Beaver's Kitchen.  Red Dragon has boasted of their pie...so save room from lunch.  From Chappell Hill we will head once again on backroads to Brookshire, take a reststop and then head towards Simonton via 1489 and then head into town on 1093 and Westheimer Parkway.  We should be arriving at Beltway 8 and Westheimer around 5:30, and for those going on to the Deer Park area, it will be around 6:15.

Let me know if you want to join us so I can watch/stop for you.

All I can say is, we in the North Texas expect a report, good or bad or indifferent, as to how it was.  8) 8). We're talkin a loooong ride here from this end of the world and would love to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about how it is. If it's what I expect or y'all find out then, maybe we can all meet & greet there one Saturday noonish or so.    O0 O0

Ed,

Yes, I was planning on leaving the Shell at 10:00 and running up 149 and picking up Taz. Then take the long way through the woods and making Snook around noon. I will probably be there around 9:45. O0
