Ride For Kids
« on: March 14, 2008, 08:19:42 PM »

The Houston Ride for Kids event is Sunday, April 27th this year.  It will be at the Pasadena Conventions Center and Fairgrounds again this year.  Registration is 8:00 AM, to 9:45 AM.  Ride starts at 10:00 Am.  The motorcycle to be given away at this years ride is a 2008 VTX 1800.  Hope to see everyone there.

If you don't love what you're doing, then don't do it.

This will be my third year in a row. We need to get together and ride as a group.

I should be there. Just name a time and place and whoever is going will probably try to make it. O0

Ok, well, there is an IHOP on Spencer inside the Beltway, 3605 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77504-1111...meet up about 8 am, eat some breakfast and leave around 9 am to head to the Pasadena Convention Center 5 miles away.  Would give us about 30 minutes to register.

I would love to join you ya'll for this but unfortunately I won't know until the day before if I can make it. As usual my daughter has a softball tournament which consumes most of my weekends. If we end up getting knocked out early I will defintely be there. I have yet to make a Wednesday M&G for the same reason, softball ( practice night ).

Yeah thinking the 27th is open for me to join up with those of you going.  :)
As I've not yet been to this one, how much is the registration fee/contribution?

$35.00 is minimum, $50.00 will get you a t-shirt, It goes on up to a jacket I think for $300.00.

If you get $300 in sponsorship then you are entered to win a free bike...for every $300 you get another entry.  But like Red Dragon said, $35 is the minimum

If you download/print out the registration form and fill it out ahead of time, it will save you lots of time at the event.

It looks like they are giving away a CBR1000RR.  We will try to make this if possible.

Ok, it looks like I am going to wimp out.  80% chance of rain and thunderstorms just is not my idea of riding weather.  I will check the weather again early in the morning, but I am closing down tonight with low expectations of going on the ride.
