DONE with Woods Fun Center in Austin

So my bike is acting all nutty....


It started vibrating like hell at rpm's over 3500. Then, after it warmed up, it started to make an ungodly racket from the exhaust..About every 1 second it goes "WOOOOOMPH" like it is barking at me. Idles and runs fine, but the damn bark is concerning.... I changed the plugs, checked for vaccuum leaks, took the baffles out...nothing fixed it.

So I headed to Woods to see if they had any ideas that I could try before I hauled it in, and to get their "professional" opinion on if it was safe to drive it the 7 miles to get it to the shop. I recorded the sound the bike was making on my cell. This is where the drama started...

I went in and told them my drama. The first thing the dude said was..."bad gas". I told him that it ran fine on this gas before (10 days old), and it has not been sitting up. "Bad gas...NEXT!!!" He says.... I said, "Hang on, bro...check out this sound and let me know if you feel if I should drive it in or trailer it in..."

THE BASTARD LAUGHED OUT LOUD AT ME... then he looked at his punk-Cranberries buddy and they LAUGHED TOGETHER...

"Bad gas...NEXT..."

I understand that he cannot make ANY judgement based on a recording, but dammit...don't laugh at me.

The guys at Georgetown Honda took my recording back to the back, played it for 3 mechanics, and told me it should be fine to drive in. They all told me they heard the noise, and it should be OK. Thats all I ever wanted.

Maybe I am overreacting, but Woods Dude was damn close to an Cranberries whoopin'.. >:(

That's jacked up!!!! I would've knocked the hell out of him.  Was there no one esle to talk to?

Have had 1 transaction with Georgetown  and was quite impressed.  They delivered what they promised  KEY to good business.  I'll travel there again if needed.

Maybe you should have taken a picture of the engine to go with the sound's.

Sorry man, I couldn't resist.  :D

My bike is also out of service and I'm afraid of what Galveston Honda will charge me to make a simple repair.

I've had nothing but problems with woods as well, georgetown honda is a far better dealer IMHO. They actually take the time to listen. lets us know what it turns out to be.
