Need Geezer advice, Yes I am one.
« on: January 23, 2008, 10:33:58 PM »

For my age, I am getting old fast, The body parts are going faster than I can get them fixed. Riding the bike will be a whole different thing soon. I once was a regular at the track, Those days are gone, 1000mi rides are out, I just can't do that now. A wing may help, but I don't think even a wing is going to help things for long. I will not give up my X but,  I have many toys  I need to shed due to the fact  that I can't use them now.

Rhumatoid arthritis in my right shoulder and wrist from 3 years of bullriding

Bursitis in both knees from 9 years of baseball and 6 of football

Cannot carry a wallet because my hips will jump out of level from bullriding and football

Tendonitin in my right thumb, wrist, and elbow from 4 years on the Pro Bowlers Tour..

I just turned 47, I am 6' 184lbs,  I am looking to get back to 180 from a high of 191 two months ago and now I think I will shoot for 175.

My biggest killer has been my eating habits but I have moderated that plus my workouts are regular again.
My only ache is in my neck area but it has eased after returning to lifting and using a stationary bike instead of the road pounding from running.
Get into a workout routine and I bet some of those aches and pains will begin to disappear start simple then add to the routine and variation will keep you from getting bored.
Give any routine 4 to 6 weeks before you begin to see results.

Best wishes.

I'm 38, but I've been doing contact martial arts since I was 14.  Now, down to 200 pounds from a high of 275, my joints are actually in better shape now than 10 years ago, with the exception of my destroyed shoulder, which has had reconstruction and is better than before that, but still isn't all that great.  Just not smart, I'm not.  LOL  Can't quit it tho.  Now my biggest worry is hurting myself enough that I couldn't ride, like when I broke my arm a couple years ago....  I was healed just about the time I bought my X.  (Broken in February, bought the X in May.)  Jeeze, ya know, generally we're pretty stupid with our bodies.  But the MEMORIES!  :)

The wing is the BEST RIDING BIKE I personally have ever rode. I'm not going to give up the X either but, I see a wing in my future!

Well let's see. First we'll need to lower the armrests and get the seat done in leather with some studs. Then we'll go darkside and spend about 7K on chrome. Then I'll ride it.  O0

All I can say is that I'll be 60 in March and I've got alot less body parts now than when I arrived due to life in the fast lane. Thank goodness for good DRUGS is about all I can say about that.
