Careless covering (poor tie down, wrong placement or ropes, etc.), or the use of the wrong kind of cover, can scratch plastic, chrome, ruin paint, wear spots on seats, backrests, and mess up your bags.  :o

Unless you've got an enclosed trailer, IMHO it's best to tie it down well and give it a wash once you arrive (if needed).

100% agree. O0

Trailering put the first dents on my bike. The trailer has come in handy as a camper crude but better than a tent, It's covered. I only trailer when I am needing to haul more than I can on the bike. Like people who I don't want on the back of my bike. The truck hauling the trailer only gets slightly worse gas mileage than the bike alone. I have done it, but hauling a git fiddle on the bike is a PITA. With the trailer its all there. Problem is I missed the best part, The ride to where I am going, and back. At this point I will ride when I can, and trailer when I need to.
