After Market Air Kit Information (HELP) Needed
« on: December 16, 2007, 08:33:33 PM »

The wife said get what you want for Christmas and give me the bill. Shame on her. She loves me but dont know what I am gonna spend.

I have a 2006 1800 F2 and am looking at getting new pipes (V&H Bigshots), Power Commander 3, and a Air Kit. I am needing help with the air filter kit.

I am looking at the Thunder Tornado air kit but am wondering what happens when it rains. Does the engine suck in water or does it roll off? Is this the right kit or shall I go with the Hurricane? To the people that have the Tornado does it interfere with your leg?

Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Doug

for the Tornado they make a rain sock for it 100% water proof and breathable. I asked the same question about it sticking out too far and hitting my leg to MRVTX and he sent me a pic of him on the bike and it was totaly out of the way it seamed like. he said it doesn't bother him at all. The Thunder Tornado is what I want to go with also ;)

Thanks for your help.

I'm twisted between the Tornado and the Hurricane. I guess I will wait a couple more days and see what kind of research I come up with before jumping off the deep end on this. After all I only want to do it once.

They're both good kits and you won't have problems with either one. The only real difference is in the appearance, so pick whichever one blows your dress up.

Hipshot got to it before me... which one do you like the looks of?  I like the spiky look of the one over the boxy look of the other (can never remember which is which, since I have a different box).

I just got my Tornado kit in, but have not installed it yet. I also ordered the Chrome cover with the flame cutouts. It will be here after Christmas.  O0

I guess that I will have to go with the Hurricane. Heck who knows the ol lady might find out what I'm getting and pull my shopping card. :-\

I have the tornado and can assure you that even in the heaviest of rains I have never had a problem with water.  Just keep your filter oiled and you'll be okay.   O0

What?  No Love for the Kury Hypercharger?  Even with cool little RED LED's inside?  I love mine. Show or go, It is Cool, I dig the little butterflys kicking back and forth, especially at night.

Yeah I like that one also. BUT I dont think that it would be to safe for me to be trying to look at the butterflys while I'm riding down the rode. ;D

Well, hell, I have been pulling up to all the glass doors and just looking down at stop lights, I'm off to go get crash bar Mirrors now. Wonder if Kury makes em? O0
