Anyone here with 4" risers on an 1800?
« on: December 05, 2007, 03:47:24 PM »

I am curious if anyone in my area has 4" risers on an 1800. I would love to check it out to see if this would relax my riding, it feel like im a bit hunched over sometimes and am wondering if this would be a good adjustment.

I'd think it would help you out and let you lean back a bit more.  I don't have the risers but a lot of folks do and they all seem to like them.   O0

i assume you have an R or S model? i've got a C and they come with the 4" risers. i put the aeromach 6" risers on mine and it made a huge difference. if in fact you do have the R or S a fairly cheap way to find out if the 4" risers will help is buy a set of 1800C model risers and try them out. quite a few have done this and say they work great. in fact i sold mine to a guy with the R model and he loves 'em. you can find them on the national board fairly often for around $40-$60. the aeromachs new are $110-$140. good luck and ride safe.

When I changed to the Ultimate seat, I added the 4" risers and I am more comfortable than before. The Ultimate seats put me further back away from the bars. Now with the 4" risers I am closer than ever. I feel more like I am riding a couch now. The risers I put on have a 1.5" pull back. Warren

I think I've still got the stock risers from my "C" model 1800. Let me know if you'd like to try them.

Yes I have an R model.....

Well lets see which one of you I can get them from first  ::)

I apprecieate the quick responses, I assume if I put the stock riser from an alt model 1800 that I wouldnt need to extend the cables or anything....Just attach them to the tripple tree and then mount the handlebar right?

PM me and we can get together...

Thanks again guys...

I've got a C model and put 6" risers and didn't have to change anything in the way of cables, hoses, or wiring. I can't say in your case what will be needed. Need to hear from somebody that has done this to an R. Personally I don't see it being a problem, just a part swap.

BB, I have the Aero 4" risers, with Shadow bars. I am still using the stock cables, although some are a little snug.
This pic doesn't show the risers real well, but it will give you an idea of how high the Shadow bars are, and it all still fits.
