Tires - 180's or 200's ?
« on: November 20, 2007, 02:57:20 PM »

 :-\

I have a 2003 1800 R with spokes, I am looking at the Metz ME880 180/70R16 . My question is about the tire fitment information available from Metzeler. There is a listing that shows a Stage one upgrade to a ME880 200/60R16 , will this fit my bike with no mods to the fender or shocks or am I looking at quite a bit of work, and is there anything I should be aware of going to a 200 vs the 180?

TIA for your opinions on this one guys....

I was told the same thing for my '02 1800R, but I was also told there was very little difference in performance and that with the R model, you will not see much of the tire anyway. Also, if you have any bolts for the luggage rack that are custom (not Honda standard), they may be longer and could hit the tire under the fender. I chose to stick with the 180.. My .02  :)

I stopped scraping the floorboards with a 200 rear. Other than that, no difference
