I remember when putting on my Memphis fats windshield that the instructions stated not to use RainX.  But it is so darn difficult to see through the rain when the wet stuff is out.  Any suggestions...other than drive faster of course!  Or, has anyone used RainX without probs?

I have a friend that used RainX on his Goldwing windshield. He is still pissed off about it. Do not use it...

Rain-X is definitely not advised or recommended for plastic motorcycle windshields and can ruin a windshielf by putting on a glaze on it. Many motorcycle windshields have a special coating on their surface and RainX will eat away this coating and cause serious problems for the windshield below.

If you want to use something on your windshield you might try Lemon Pledge, as it does indeed help rain beed off, and does no harm to any plastic shields or coatings. Plexus and the 2010 spray polish are also another good option to use.

So I guess pledge is supposed to be a good cheap way to go...

I also read about finding out what people use on the windshields of their boats, and I saw mentions of using some of Meguiar's products.  Also read that Rain X makes a product now that is safe to use on plastic.

I put rain-x on my headlights and they got really yellow and foggy.    That sucked.....

Turns out if you put a buffing wheel on a diegrinder, you can buff that fog out with a white rouge. It now looks brand new.

Lots of folks use Pledge to clean and polish their whole bike. It seems to do a great job.

That's funny, but it makes you wonder if manufacturers will ever put a windshield wiper on a motorcycle?!?  I'm surprised that the Goldwings don't have them by now!

Shaving cream works. Wipe it on, wipe it off, let it set.

I started using the Turtle Wax ICE and it is working well.  Keeps the shield clear and clean.  Thanks for all the info.
