Exhaust
« on: November 13, 2007, 02:29:56 PM »

Ok, I am going to put new pipes on my 1300R, I am sure everyone has an opinion and I would like to hear a few suggestions.  I will do this at my 4,000 service, which will be no later than the end of January so by then I should have the moolah to splurge.
1.  Are there any pipes on the market that do not require a rejet or is that a case by case issue?
2.  What about slip ons?

Thanks in advance. O0

you only need to rejet if you cange your intake also. there's no need to rejet if all your changing is your pipes.

I have the Hard Krome K2's. they sound great. no one likes to ride on the right side of me because they say they're too loud. to me they're not loud enough :D what are you looking for? loudpipes, looks?

Louder than my stocks, I used to not like loud pipes when I was younger.  Usually rode sport type similar to the V-Max style.  This is my first cruiser and I get the you need to rejet stuff if you change pipes.
I was looking at the vance & Hines line but I will take a look a the Hard Chrome K2's.

Thanks, William

Decision made, Vance big shots, going to rejet and k&n filter.  Will have C&C do the work for me, in Monday afternoon pickup Tuesday afternoon.

Thanks, if he had everything in stock I would have had everthing ready by the weekend.  My brother will be envious because he told me when I purchased another bike he would to.  Sis inlaw said no, so now when she is over t-giving she will really be upset when she gets to hear the bike roar.

Big Shots are on and man what a difference in sound and performance with the rejet.   I know I did good when the wife says "oh my gosh are we going to be able to talk when we ride"  Son can't wait for the first pickup with it at school, I will get a pic soon.

...and then if that don't work, you are going to have to buy an Ultimate X or Mustang seat to help quiten it all down even more.   ;D

I even used ear plugs when I use to track my bike.   ???

Yep the seat issue has been discussed, that will be a few months down the road as I need to turn the discretionary income towards some home remodeling.  The deal with wifey to let me have the ability to make some real noise.
