We have trailered for the last three years, as it is a good 20+ hour drive to Daytona Beach.  And not only that, the highways in Louisiana really suck, (the highways are all tore up with holes/debris etc.) and Louisiana is the longest stretch as far as going through the different states.  And inevitably you will run into weather along the route.  My recommendation is to either trailer or throw your scooter into the back of your truck so you can haul-Cranberries and get there quick!!!    We are planning on leaving on Sunday 3/2 and returning back on Sunday 3/9.  Can't wait..!!!

Just how far of a ride is that...? 

Not sure what the timing on a scooter would be, but my best time from Mansfield to Palm Coast, FL which is where I normally campout (20 miles north of Daytona) was 18.5 hours and only made fuel stops.     Mileage is around 1,000.
