I'm a believer now!
« on: November 07, 2007, 06:31:20 PM »

Well I had to put a new tire on the front of my X. I've heard how much better the Metzler is than the stock Dunnie. Well the dealer only wanted @20 more for the Met than the Dunnie so I bought it.

WOW! There is a world of difference. I don't think I'll have anything else on the front!

I am still going to the DARK SIDE on the back when I need to.

Can you give more info about the dark side?  Any mods and such to make it happen.  My rear tire is a little choppy and I was thinking of the dark side when I change it out.  Thanks!

I believe the largest tire you can put on without any mods is a 195 car tire. I believe you can go 200 on a scooter tire without mods. I don't believe they make a 200 car tire. I believe it goes from 195 to 205.

If this is not correct someone will set us straight!

I went 205/55/16, the only modification I did was grinding the lip & tabs on the bracket under the rear fender.  I ground them off, and put door edging on the bracket to take off the sharp edge.  No rubbing, don't really know if there would have been rubbing, but I figured better safe than sorry.  I did a lot of reading here, the national board, and other state boards, and spoke to other darksiders before going over to the darkside.  I love it!
