If I were to shoot up to Arkansas for a couple of days riding where would be the best place to go?

If someone came to Texas I would probably guide them to Hill Country and the 3,s.   Where in Arkansas?

I'm chatting with someone from Arkansas as we speak.  He says he can show the ropes of places and meet there.  Who all would go on this trip?  When would you take it?  If I am off I will go.  I've never been there, so it would be cool.

I had planned on going this month for a week.
Was going to do some camping and ride but work has my world in limbo right now as for as making plans.
I don't think I would won't to go unless I had at least a four day weekend to do it in.

Here's a link to a thread that has some input on Ark.

It should be getting beautiful up there right about now.  O0

Dave, Here ya go http://www.arkansas.com/outdoors/motorcycling/suggested-rides.asp

Add 21 from Clarksville @ I-40 up to 74.  It is just as much fun as the pig trail (23) and a lot less traffic.

123 is technical like the our 3's.  After about 30 minutes of this I get tired. :)

Four days would be good.

I have a opportunity to go to Northern Ark the weekend of the LSR, but if you put a ride together I'll try to make your ride instead.  I'll need somebody to share a room.  Retirement has put me in a penny pinching mode. ;)

Oh come on and go with me. You can ride this far and stay here for a night, then we'll leave the next morning. I promise I'll be serious and boring, ...maybe, ...at least I'll try, ...maybe, ...or, ...maybe not  :D

The Talamena road is good getting there - even though it's where I went down.

The one GOT to do is Stop in Booger Hollow for fudge- if you like that sort of thing.  Me I'm a chocoholic so it's a must.

The place is a hole in the wall along some (?) highway - but the old woman there makes the best fudge you ever ate.

The riding and eating go hand in hand for me and it shows. :D

Well lately more eating than riding - and that really shows.

I mentioned in my earlier post that hwy 123 is more technical than some of the other roads in Ark.

Here is a post from the TWT site about a tragic event earlier this week.  http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?p=308245#post308245

Earlier this year the leader of a ride I was on in Ark went down on 123.  The guy is an experienced rider.  However, before he knew it he was in some sand & gravel in a tight decreasing radius curve.  He tried to save the bike from a fishtail but was unable to do so.  He suffered a shoulder injury and was out of commission for a long time.

123 deserves a great deal of respect.  Be careful for any of you Xer's who make the journey to Ark.
