Have you ever...
« on: September 12, 2007, 01:20:43 PM »

Found anything unusual on the used bike you just purchased...

This isn't very unusual but looking back I thought it was funny as hell  ;D

I got my VTX 1300 this past June and when I got it I failed to ask the gentleman I bought it from about the owners manual.  :(

So the end of August roles around and I'm thinking ok I'll just order one from the dealer. I get the manual in and start reading it and on page 72. It says that there is a storage area behind the left cover on the bike which can conveniently hold a bag of tools for the VTX and a owners manual.

I stared at the page like an idiot for what seemed 5 minutes.  ???

I went out and checked behind the cover and there was the tool bag and the original owners manual.  >:(

So now I have 2 manuals. The original and the one with my name all over it.

Not sure if there's a moral to the story....  :-\

If anyone needs a owners manual for a '05 VTX1300 I have one they can have. :)

It's a device they put in the tool kit compartment to take up space, so the tools don't bounce around and rattle.

That's pretty good, telling you in the owner's manual where to find the owner's manual.   Wonder if you tear the engine down if you'll find a service manual hidden in there somewhere...   Or maybe they have two versions of the owners manual - the one that comes with the bike tells you to buy a manual from the dealer, and the one you buy from the dealer tells you to look in the tool compartment.

All the big bear needs is a local ace hardware. ;D ;D Or a radio shack, because the only problems they have are the dumbass owners forgetting their keys. Plus they are so low mileage, how could anything go wrong! :o :o ;D ;D ;D

I meant the manual that has the definitions for riding in it...   ;D

A 10 mile roundtrip of campsite to fredericksburg back to campsite doesn't constitute "riding".  I bet you still have the nipples on those tires. O0

it does in my Big Bear Manuel ;D ;D
