ultimate seat for a neo
« on: August 30, 2007, 11:07:59 AM »

is there anyone in the dallas/mesquite area with an ultimate x big boy seat on a retro or neo 1800. I am a short big boy and would like to sit on one before i buy one. I am 375 with only a 30" inseam, so im worried about being able to reach the ground I already can not stand flat footed and do not want to lower the bike, because of possibly bottoming out. Anyone in the area that has one and would alow me to try it out it would be greatly appreciated. Is the mustang seat better or am I going the right way with the ultimate.

I own a Mustang seat and you are going in the right direction as for looking for the Ultimate X seat IMO.  It's more comfy and I think it is going to be a better fit for you.  Headguess is over in Rowlett and he has an X seat.  You might want to check with him.  Also, at 375 you may want to check on the Progressive HD shocks.  They won't bottom out as easy as the stockers, especially if you ever ride two up.

Hope that helps.   O0

They may be a half in shorter but they are a helluva lot better sprung.  I have the 412's on the back of mine and they are more than enough for me and the wife.  I'd imagine the HD's are a lot stronger that mine.  I do know that the progressive front springs are shorter than the Honda stockers but after putting them in my bike it raised the front end about an inch or so.  They are the GW springs, though.

BTW, you will bottom out on the stockers.   ;D  Don't ask how I know.

I lowered my bike by putting a 200 rear.  It sits about 3/4's of an inch lower.  Best thing I like about it is with having the extra meat on the sidewall, I almost never scrape the scaffolding....um er..floorboards.
