This repair video is full of CRAP! :)
« on: August 27, 2007, 08:25:36 AM »

Got a ding in your tank?

Repair instructions:

   One hair dryer

   One can of "air duster"

   Clean area around dent

Apply heat from hair dryer for one minute

Quickly invert can of air duster and spray area with liquid CO2 for about 10 seconds

Wait, watch, and listen to the dent remove itself through the thermal reation

After the frost has completely disappeared, wipe clean, wax, and ride!

Too cool...

It makes sense. Has anyone tried it yet?

I'm pretty sure I've never seen an acetylene hair dryer.....

but the concept is sound. I saw jesse james do it on monster garage when he rewelded some stuff on the roof of a civic or something and the whole thing folded up.

Our gas tanks have curves at a much steeper angle (if that makes any sense) than on a car...  That stuff works for hail damage on a car pretty well, but on our tanks, I dunno, worth a try...

I've heard of people using dry ice before, never seen it done though.  But I'd be wary of a video that looks like a 7 year old lost his spell checker.  Although, CouldBFaster spells that bad and still usually knows what he's talking about.   ;D ;D ;D

We did it at the body shop for hail damage with Dry Ice. You can uese anything even a good hot day to heat up the metal in the dented area. Now it dose not work on all dents. but it better to try before you get your car or bike repaired then painted.  O0
