This is the planned route, we may cut it shorter due to heat if needed.

Country Ride on Hwy 287 / US-67 / FM-4 / US 380 / Hwy 287

Hwy 360 South to dead-end at Hwy 287, Turn LEFT onto Hwy 287. Continue and you will run into US-67 exit, and exit to the RIGHT headed towards Waxahachi. (US-67 runs thru Waxahachi, Alvarado, and Keene). Continue till you run into the FM-4 exit, and exit to the RIGHT headed towards Granbury. (FM-4 may also be depicted as Cleburne Hwy and runs thru Acton, Granbury, Lipan, Crosses I-20, Santo, and Lone Camp, then runs into US-180. Turn RIGHT onto US-180 and continue till FM-4 comes up on the left hand side. Turn LEFT onto FM-4 northbound. Then, FM-4 will dead-end at Hwy 254, turn RIGHT. You will cross Hwy 337 which turns into Graford E. Lee Ave. Continue and make a LEFT at FM-206 which turns into FM-4. Continue and eventually you will see US-380. Turn RIGHT onto US-380 westbound, which will turn into W. Belknap St. Make a RIGHT at South Main street/US-281 south. Continue and go LEFT at W. Hwy 114. (Runs thru Runaway Bay, Rickles, and will turn into US-380 westbound towards Bridgeport). Continue on US-380 and you will run into Hwy 287. Exit on to Hwy 287 Southbound, (RIGHT). Now you are headed back towards Ft. Worth.

FOOD:

1. Great Café in Graford, TX (near the intersection of FM-4 where it turns North). Can’t miss it.

2. Jacksbobro, TX : Herds has excellent Burgers.

Weather escape routes back to the Metroplex:

Hwy 377 northbound in Granbury.
I-20 westbound in Patillo.
Hwy 180 westbound in Palo Pinto.

hey tejas what is the estimated milage on that run? GIG EM O0

I did that exact route starting from Hot Rod & Hogs in Arlington, and from there to my home (which is in Mansfield), total mileage was 220 miles...  We took our time and it took us 5 hours, and with plenty of stops along the way including a stop for a chicken fried steak plate lunch....

I may get there even earlier and have some java at Starbucks.  Don't worry Brandon, we may have to cut it shorter with the heatanyway, we can just play it as it goes.

Forecast high for Sunday is only 93 in Weatherford...  Real Texans will need to bring a light jacket.

Non-Texans, start drinking water the night before, get good and hydrated.

If you've got a stock seat, drink cheap whiskey the night before, so your head will hurt and you won't notice the pain in your Cranberries so much...

I think that covers most of the excuses you  :'(girls :'( have come up  with so far  :P

You might ask Dan, silvertribaldriver, he has ridden the route before, and he might know about what time we would be there.

For those of you that are concerned with the length of the ride, as well as the timing of the ride with regard to the temperatures, I can make some changes to our route at the beginning and end portions to reduce our time in arriving at FM-4 and heading back into the metroplex.  Which would reduce the total time by say 1.5 to 2 hours, majority vote rules obviously.  The temp is forecasted in the low 90's for Sunday.  Lets get some feedback going....  Although we will still meet at Dukes Bedford, same bat time....same bat channel.... I up for the full route, Dan.  With it being in the lower 90's we should be fine and it sounds like a great route.  I've done group rides a long time and any one I have ever been on, folks are always welcome to cut out at any point if they want or need to.

Let's go the distance.
