The fun just keeps on going around here.........

Well my son is now a member of the those that have club. He hit a possum last night and it sent him flying over the handle bars. Wearing a helmet thank God, but no other gear other than boots though.

He is ok, mostly road rash and his pride is hurt. He is rethinking gloves now
guess it took more then me nagging.   

The bike really isn't that bad off, he rode it to the house but he was at the trun in to our subdivision. The handle bars are not straight though, it's not that they are bent up but when you hold the bike upright and line the tire up with the body of the bike the bars are still pointing off to the left. Any suggestions on how to fix that?

Glad it's mostly his pride that's hurt. You're never to old to listen to Mama.

Just replace the bars if they're bent.

Galaxy 500, kid on a bike, and a rubber road 'gator for me, although the road gator didn't throw me. Lots of off road FU's, a few birds too.
Sher, secure the front wheel and turn the bars till it's lined back up. Have it checked out by a local bike mech. Hate it happened to him, but it could turn into a good learning experience since he's still young and still indestructable. :o How bad are his hands?

I you are right Jim it probably is the risers now that I look at. Will what Snake said work for that?

Only one of his hands is really scraped up bad and a little raw on the palm. He won't be able to work till it scabs as he is cooking at his job.

Sherri, you MAY have to tighten the riser bolts, but I doubt it. Just bump it back into alignment. Sit on the bike and use the bars to bump the wheel sideways against a car or truck's tire.

Yeah Sherri, stabilize the wheel so it won't turn and turn the bars till straight. That should line it up! ;D

thanks guys that seemed to work and it wasn't that hard. Now a question as to  which bolt to tighten the two on the bottom or the 4 on the top?

I showed up at a campsite where 4 of my biker co-workers were staying. We were going on a morning ride to get breakfast. Two of the guys that were supposed to ride waved me on and said "We can't make this one". My boss started his bike and looked at me and said "A lot of people 'own' motorcycles".
