Question about wearing the Large Patch on the back
« on: July 25, 2007, 07:02:42 AM »

Is wearing the Large patch on the back of a vest or jacket been approved by the Texas CoC?

This might be a stupid question but I'm new to this sort of thing and don't want to get my butt kicked by some 1%'r.

Thanks

Naw, don't worry about it. There's old wives tells about putting rockers on top and bottom of the emblem that seems to make some riders mad. I've got a patch on the back of my vest with a rocker (name) over it and I've never had anytrouble. Now go ahead and get a patch from Earl and display it with pride  O0 O0

Hooter may not have had any problem, but if you have a town/state rocker, you can have trouble in some areas. The patch we adopted doesn't have these and doesn't step on the COC's toes.

Yep, my ugly(ist) stick came from a Marine Sarg, a DI he was, at Pendelton, home on leave taught me a lesson how not to be a smart Cranberries, I figured from then on if I could survive the beating I took that night, I swear there was 10 of him, then I can at least ride my bike and wear my colors proudly without fear of a few riders that don't see things my way. That's okay for you, but realize that your defiance may put others wearing the same patch at risk. If asked, I take my vest off not because I don't want a confrontation, but because I don't want my wife or others in my club to have to suffer for it. That being said, being COC members we've never had a problem.

Put some rockers on and ride up to Oklahoma. I here there are some fellow bikers up that way that will explain it to you.  :)

Coferderation of Clubs

There was a deal about two years ago where some 1%ers ask an Oklahoma x rider to remove their colors because they had Oklahoma as their top rocker. It went as for as the OK. group changing the name of their club and board name.
The president of the 1%ers even posted to the OK. board explaining the whys and what fors. Very articulate dude but there was no doubt that they took the matter very seriously but didn't want any trouble.
The new patch design was presented to the COC, approved by the COC then accepted by the 1%ers.

And everyone lived happily ever after. I don't wear anything but necessary tools of defense.

There was some talk of it on the VTXOA.
