Might have totaled my bike

Just waking up from my drug induced nap, and realized my bike may be totaled by the insurance company. Here is my story.
My wife and I went to the Coloradical for the first time, and it has not been a pleasant experience for us. Don't get me wrong, Cliff and Carol host a great event, lots of good people and great rides, but a lot of people crashed their bikes at the event. On Monday, 5 people went down, with 3 of them staying overnight in the hospital. On Tuesday, Janatha & I took off on our own for a 10 hour ride, and as we were pulling into the hotel parking lot at 5:00 PM, my day came to an abrupt stop. We were following 2 bikes into the parking lot, and after the first 2 passed, a girl pulled an illegal u-turn and hit my rear tire with her bumper. After I completed my summersaults and rolls, I came to a stop after a 20 foot slide. Following that was an ambulance ride, cat scan, x-rays and other fun filled hospital thrills, I wound up with a broken left collar bone, 4 broken ribs and a rapidly diminishing prescription of percoset. It looks like she bent my rear wheel and swingarm, tag holder, left grip and lever and a few chrome pieces. The worst part is the front peg, which might indicate frame damage, but I won't know for sure until I get some estimates. Other than some pain from a 13 hour car ride yesterday, things are not too bad.
Hope to see you guys on the road again in a few weeks,
Jim

Jim,
Heal well. Thankfully you're able to report; the bike can be replaced. I'm down the road in Boyd if you need anything at all.

Thanks for all the encouragement and positive thoughts.
Any one know a good lawyer? Jim neglected to include that the dingbat flat out lied to the police office -- said she never moved
We haven't seen the police report yet so hopefully he listened to the witnesses.
Y'all ride safe too!

get better soon, I had a big one in february. If the insurance sees even a scratch on ANY part, they replace it. My frame wasnt damaged but had a scratch we touched it up or it would have been a total(still manages $6000 in damage
) , the shop can check and see f the frame is really ok, but if its scratched "touch it up" and you ll save your bike. Of course Im not really saying this, thats just wrong

Glad to hear you are going to be ok! We were there, Tom cat at the pool with the kids, and I on a ride. We were all wondering how you faired. You have our prayers for a speedy recovery and hopefully your bike is ok too, although that can be replaced a good rider can't.

WOW,
So sorry to hear about your accident, Really glad to hear from you - that you are going to be ok, despite
the injuries you suffered.
Prayers for a speedy recovery.
Where is your bike ? did you trailer it back ?
Hoping the police get it right and her insurance covers everything.

Soo Sorry to hear of your accident and injuries. That really sux..!!! As has been posted numerous times, the scooter can be repaired or replaced, but you need to take care of yourself. Relax, take your vicodin, and it will all work out.
I think you mentioned that your wife was with you?? Is she O.K.?? Heal fast and best wishes to you and yours my fellow X'er....
