New Nozzels at Gasoline Station
« on: June 28, 2007, 01:22:13 PM »

Has any one had problems fueling up with the new nozzels they have installed.  How do you get around it?  I must have been sleeping because I did not not they were changing the nozzels.  I went to put gas this week at one of the downtown area gas stations and was not able to because of the new nozzel.  The nozzel appears to need to be sealed against the gas tank put with my VTX1800 R I alway insert half way so that I can see how much more I need till it reaches the top

any suggestions or solutions besides getting a gas can?

there's a sensor in the plastic bendy tube around the nozzle. if you pull that back and expose about 4in. of the nozzle it will work. but it does suck having to use two hands to put in gas. O0

I recall a device, actually a small plastic piece, that pins the darn thing back.  I can't remember where I saw it but I'm sure someone will post the site.  I know I get tired of two handing my hose.

Here is a link to something that may work for you, it says it works for all bikes, and all nozzles, and I think the guy in the video is on an X...

Thanks for the response.  The Mccuff looks like it will do the trick but I could not access the site.

I have one.  The sites up now, looks as though they are doing some kind of maintenance.

yeah here in California, and I here now in 50 States the Enviromental standards are mandating the nozzles.

We've had 'em here for 20+ years so we know what a hassle they are.   NOT knowing when your full, spilling gas on the paint, wasting gas and all that jazz.

This mccuff gadget does the trick for me, I have two bikes and have one for each.  Their kinda low priced and pretty good.

The thing is that the clicking nozzles are no longer a problem and I'm able to fill up one handed just as if my bike was  car.  When the nozzle clicks off my tank is perfectly full, NO KIDDING!

On another subject, if any of you guys ever cruise to California, make sure to hit up a cool place along PCH just 5 miles north of Zuma beach... it's a seafood joint called Neptunes Net.

They suck and it takes longer to fill up than it normally would so may try one of the things on that site

Last year my buddy and I had experanced these gas nozzels in Cal. We called it "pulling back the foreskin" Just pull back the ring and gas will dispense. Sorry to hear this might be in Texas now

There's a small price break if you buy in bulk. Anyone interested???

I hear what you are saying but I just have too much hanging out the end that it overbalances me and hurts my back.  ;)
