Motorcycle Insurance
« on: June 07, 2007, 10:20:30 PM »

I think I am getting ripped off on my insurance so I am looking for advise. I have a 03 1300S and am paying $537 a year. I have friends with new Harley's that pay less. I know it also depends on the coverage. I am checking on bikeline and they seem to be the cheapest. Any ideas let me know.

Perfect driving record

It was around $400 for the first year, but it got cheaper each following year,

I have Progressive, and was paying $338 on my 1300 VTX. When I got the Feejer, and switched policies online, the premium went to $815!!! I ran the online numbers with Geico, and they came in at $529. I decided to give Progressive one last shot, and gave them a call. I told them my Geico quote, and she ran the numbers while I was on the phone. Result? $459.... which I accepted.

Driving record is important, but so is credit score. My credit score, for insurance purposes, according to Progressive, is in the top 1% of all the folks they have applying. Ya pays your bills on time, and good things happen.  O0

The moral of the story is make some calls, don't just take on-line quotes as gospel. Good luck!  ;)

Your location effects your rates as well. (population) The number of fools you have to dodge.

what ever they all said + 1 ...  If you find a good deal from a large Insurance company, take it.  I would stay away from companies you never heard of.  If you ever file a claim with those off the wall insurance companies, you will see why the are so cheap...  cause their customer service sucks..

I guess I must be in the high price category as well.  I'm with Geico and full coverage is 439. for the VTX 1800 and 654. for the Harley. I'm 32 with an excellent driving record.

Kenny and Kebs,

Shop around, and push them for lower prices. Like I said, Progressive was $815 on the Feejer, until I told them I was leaving.

Kenny,

Your insurance agent may have heard you talking about the V-Rod at BBT...  :o :D ;D ;D ;D
