I have a buddy who has recently come up with a quick release mount for a video camera, GPS or whatever else you might like to have mounted on your handlebar as you roll down the road. Although it allows you to attach or remove your favorite device very quickly, it contains a safety latch that will prevent whatever you've mounted from rattling off or flying off after accidentally bumping the release lever (I know this would never happen
). Also, it's designed so that you don't have to re-adjust the mounting position or angle each time you re-attach you favorite device.
Imagine the possibilities . . . if you carry a GPS (or would like to), it would provide a convenient, simple way to remove the unit when you're out somewhere and need to leave the bike unattended, or, for instance, . . . if you are planning on going to the ROT rally, you might want to buy one of these video camera mounts so that you can video tape all the craziness at the rally.
The device is called the "QREMM-SL quick release with safety latch". You can mount it on your handlebars using a RAM mount that attaches to your brake or clutch reservoir, or you can attach it anywhere on your handlebars or Roll-bars using a RAM U-clamp base.
