Lost my Uncle.
« on: May 30, 2007, 08:12:04 PM »

My Uncle, my mother's brother, died last night of a massive heart attack. They say he never knew he died so fast. He was a Viet-Nam VET. He lived in Virginia. His wife has decided not to bring him back to Texas for burial even though he told her that is what he wanted, He even had pre-paid expenses to take care of it.

He was 59 yesterday and died on his birthday.

The odd thing is my mother had three brothers all 11 years apart. The first one died 11 years ago when he was 59 also. The last brother will be 48 in June.

Please pray for my mother and her sisters.

I am sorry that you can't bring him home.

I had an uncle that died at 45 in Mississippi.  His wife would not let us bring him home either.

I found the biggest headstone that I could find shaped like Texas.  We had it fixed up, enscribed with a poem and put it on his grave.

We also took up some Texas dirt and put it on his grave.  Every time somebody goes up to visit, they take a Lone Star beer, drink one and pour one on the grave.

Kinda brings a little bit of home to his gravesite.

We will pray for your mom.  I know what mine went through.
