Ride in the Ozarks
«

Me and some buddies are looking at taking a ride up in the Ozarks in late September.
Anybody got some good rides they would recommend up there?
If we can organize something cool, we're going to see if we can get a group to head up with us.
So if anyone is interested chime in and I'll start to send out the details as they become available.
Early plan is as follows:
Head up to Arkansas on 9/28 (some of us are going to trailer our bikes and carry camping gear, food, drink, etc.)
Camp and ride on Sat/Sun (9/29 - 9/30).
Ride to Dallas on the afternoon/evening of 9/30. We're going to stay at a buddies house outside of Big D.
Ride from Dallas to Austin on Monday 10/1.

The ozarks are north ark...if you want some good riding as you come south and west, there is a 54 mile stretch that runs the mountain (if you can call them that...) ridge from Mena Ark to Talihena OK. Mostly motorcycle traffic, excellent scenery. I would suggest that as part of your western return route. Let me know when you'll be up here.

I just came back yesterday from the Ozarks. We spent 6 days riding Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
Must do rides include:
Scenic Byway 7
Telimena Parkway
Highway 125 along the AR / MO state line (you need to take the Bull Shoals ferry)
Route 59 through the
Eureka Springs is a cool tourist town, ton of bikers.
if you would like more detail, you can pm me and i can send you our ride routes.

I will also recommend Scenic 7 and also I thinks it's 29 heading up into Russellville. Almost anything north of I-20 is nice.

Wow.
Sounds like we've got plenty of options and not nearly enough time on this trip to see them all.
I'll look over a map and start to try and come up with some good routes given we only have 2 days to actually ride in the Ozarks.
More to follow.
Keep the good routes coming!

I used to live in Arkansas and the ride between Hot Springs and Russellville is pretty awesome. Up around Heber Springs is good also.

Normally not much different from here. In the mountains it is pretty cool in the mornings and usually foggy.
