« on: May 07, 2007, 08:27:06 PM »

Anyone seen or know of anyone with Rinehart exhaust?  I'm looking at this one and have heard it's the best for sound and performance.  any advice would be welcomed.

thanks,

My roommate has rinehart pipes on his bike and they sound really good.  He rides a Harley, but they sound really good none the less.

I'm really interested in these pipes as well.
I've looked online and found a Bub Rinehart 1800 VTX - Flush set of pipes for $830.
Seems pricey and I'd really like to hear them on the VTX first since the only sound files I can find online are for Harley's.

I actually got a better price from bikerhaven.com.  you email them and they shoot you an email with discounted price and it looks like pretty good deal.

The dealership we were at this weekend had some 1800F with Cobra and V&H Big Shots.  The V&H sounded awesome so that is what he bought me.  Now I need to sell my Cobra Slip ons; as soon as the new exhaust is on.   :D

good luck.

Thanks, I'll give that website a try.
The V&H didn't sound raspy at all did they?

Just got the V&H installed and the sound is awesome; not raspy.  Best sounding ones I've heard to date.  Are you going to BBT?

I compared the V&H's to the Cobras before I bouth my new 1800 C and the V&H's seemed alot better  hands down so thats what I had put on mine. Although the Cobra's sounded really nice on the 1300. The V&H gave me alot more throaty sound and I have gotten alot of compliments on them as far as sound

Thanks.
How much for the V&Hs?
Did you install them yourself?
If so, how easy or hard was it?

p.s. Not going to BBT, not going anywhere on my bike for awhile.
I ripped my Achilles tendon in my right leg two weeks ago.
It'll be another 3-4 weeks minimum before I can ride again.
THIS SUCKS!!!!!

you don't need your right foot to ride
just duct tape that sucker up with some sticks so it don't move and bungee your leg to the tank.

That's what down shifting and the front break are for.  :D :D

sorry to here you are out of riding for a while weather is turnig out very nice here  :'(

How much for the V&Hs?  I paid $499 for mine back in 2002.  Not sure what they cost now.
Did you install them yourself?  Yep
If so, how easy or hard was it?  Pain in the Cranberries!!!  It would have been easier if I had an extra pair of hands.

Hope that helps!

Yeah,
I'm going to try and ride as soon as I'm able to walk with the cane instead of having to use the crutches!

$499 sounds okay for the pipes, I may have to take it to the local honda dealer for the install.
Did you use the Power Cmdr to optimize the pipes?

The V&H for my 1800 ran about 700 with install so thats not a bad price. Just about any other pipes worth having are that much or more.

texas-swo ~

We just got back from BBT and you missed a good ole time.

On the V&H BS; my husband installed them and he said it's pretty easy and be sure to buy new gaskets.  We are putting a HPP on it to adjust fuel air mixture.  He didn't get a chance to hook it up before BBT and I did have idling issues.  That's going on this week and you don't need dyno to adjust.  If the HPP doesn't correct this issue he will switch over to Cobra vs power commander.  Again no need to dyno.

The V&H definitely has a good low rumble sound and is fairly load even with wrapped baffles.  It is still my opinion that these are the best sounding at least for the F model.  Definitely a preference but I tell you I've never been happier.  I also had V&H on my Sabre.

Anyway, hope you get to feeling better and good luck deciding on pipes.
