Need A Bike for Bluebonnet??? SOLD!!!!
« on: May 02, 2007, 10:06:18 PM »

I think I am going to pull the trigger on the FJR, because if Martin does it, it has to be cool, right? If you want a super clean 2003 1300S, gimme a holler (shoot me a PM). It's got 11K miles on it, always garaged, (with a cover on it), with some add-ons that are going with it:

  • Memphis Shades "Big Shot" windshield
  • Fender rails, front and back
  • Autometer tach
  • 4" risers
  • Kuryakyn grips, throttle boss
  • Paladin engine guard
  • Brand new Metzeler 880s
  • Harley (!) laydown plate frame
  • Shop Guide

and some that may go with it, for the right price:

  • Boss Bags
  • Mustang studded sport seat/passenger pillion
  • Honda Deluxe backrest, w/special VTX filler plate
  • Honda solo rack
  • whatever else I have forgotten, but will run across...

The second group will be available if they don't go with the bike. They aren't much cleaner than this one...

Wel, the Feejer isn't in the garage yet. There is some interest in the X, but until someone shows up with the ca$h, it will still be what I am riding....  O0

I liked my VTX a lot. Still do. But everytime I get on the FJR I like it more than the time before.
When you get it, post up. I'll come over and we can do the three's.  8)

It will be a good change of pace... I just need to confine most of my go fast to the 4 wheeled variety, so I don't let RD down by killing myself...  :o

The FJR has slowed me down and I screw around on it very little. The reason is that it has too much performance.
I could lean the X over in a turn at 60-75 miles and have a thrill that was pretty much under control. At 70 the FJR straightens the same turn out and asked for more.

At 100 - 110 the reaction time and margin for error in the same curve go to zero. A little gravel on the road and that's it...so...I drive pretty tame now...most of the time. ;)

It's still a dream to be on...light , nimble, smooth,  excellent breaks, comfortable....
