Lost a friend
« on: April 11, 2007, 05:09:13 PM »

I got a call yesterday, several calls actually. A friend of mine that I work with was killed on his bike last night. Ive known him for about 8 years, since he was a 17 year old kid just starting out, growing up into a full time supervisor and a man. I was proud of him. We took the rider safety course together 2 months ago, he got a bike shortly after I did. He bought a GSXR600, it was a nice bike, not my style but nice. From what Ive heard he was riding with some friends and lost control around a turn, hit a wall. He wasnt wearing a helmet. Careflight couldnt save him. A helmet could have. He didnt have the experience to take the chances he was known to take. He knew better, but I guess when your 25 it cant happen to you. I was like that, Im 36 now and I know it can happen to me, it almost did. I miss you already Corey. God Bless.

Really sorry to hear of your loss....concentrate on all the goodness he brought to your piece of the planet, then pack it away to savor as you grow older.....
